Scouts are run by voluntary leaders. Ideally a committee of parents from across the whole Group should form an Executive Committee (with contributions from uniformed leaders) to manage the HQ and its’ finances, insurance, membership list etc. The Executive Committee generally meets once a term to co-ordinate and inspire other parents to become involved in fund-raising for your children’s everyday adventures in Scouting.
This is the time of the year when we start to think about our key fund-raising activities such as Ricky Parade and Festival, and the Revels as well as taking part in Scout Community Week later in the year.
Please have a chat with your section leader if you think you can contribute to the Executive (we need a chair, secretary, treasurer and committee!) or can specifically help out in preparing for any of the fund-raising events – we will be asking everyone to spare at least half-an-hour on those particular days too.
